The Bishops’ Blue Coat CE High School Celebration Evening

This month, students at Bishops' celebrated another year of outstanding achievement and effort with the annual Celebration Evening led both by and for students. Over 230 students received trophies and medals for achievement or endeavour across the academic curriculum and LIFE Awards for their outstanding leadership and wider community engagement.

It was also an opportunity to inaugurate our new student leadership teams for the current academic year. Bishops’ has well-established teams of student leaders for Ethos and Values, Social Action, Diversity, and an Executive Student Council that leads on student voice. New teams are also being developed this year, including a Peer Mentoring and a Sports Leadership team.

Our keynote speaker, Ugo Eboh, spoke passionately about how young people have the power to transform their communities through their leadership and drive. Mr Eboh urged our students to see how they each have unique, God-given talents and that they can use these to make a difference in the world with authenticity and integrity. He finished his speech by encouraging them to reflect on Jesus’ words to his disciples: ‘whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these’.

The evening really showcased the work of our school and the impact that our Christian vision and values has on the social, personal and spiritual development of our young people. Bishops' is an exciting place to be, and it is wonderful to witness our students realising their God-given potential and talents and to celebrate their achievements with their parents, carers and families.
