Admissions & PAN Consultations - for VA schools & Academies

If you are a Voluntary-Aided school or Academy that plans to change your Admissions policy for 2026/27 or last held a public consultation 7 years ago,

the timeframe for public consultation started on 1st October and ends on 31st January.

Please send your draft policy to the DBE before the public consultation begins.

Admission Change steps:

  • Draft 2026/27 Admissions Policy & Consult DBE

  • Oct 2024 - Jan 2025 Public Consultation for min. 6 weeks span.

  • Feb 2025 Policy approval

  • Sept 2025 Applications for school places

  • Sept 2026 Academic year begins
