The Melanesian Mission: Chester Melanesia Newsletter

Understanding Christianity as a global and diverse world faith is an important aspect of our work in RE. You may have global links with your local church and their mission partners, but did you know Chester Diocese is linked globally?

There are links with the Republic of Congo and most actively, with the diocese of Melanesia and Banks & Torres.  Despite the geographical and time challenges, schools have been linking with other schools across the diocese of Melanesia.  They are discovering more about life out there, the work of the religious order, the Melanesian Brothers and also of the Green Apostles – the local church who are engaging with tackling the consequences of climate change upon the environment of the Solomon Islands.  This is a valuable source of information for our work on global Christianity and you can find out more by having a read of their latest newsletter to our schools or by visiting the Melanesian Mission UK Youtube page.  For further information, contact Jen Mcilveen.
