Celebrating Christian Vision Day at Saughall All Saints.
This term the Saughall All Saints CofE Primary School Ethos Group taught the whole school about the importance of our Christian Vision and our school's Learning Powers. The focus for the day was 'We all love, learn and grow together', the first part of our Vision.
They began the day with a wonderful act of worship that explained to the school how our Curriculum is underpinned by our Christian Vision and our Learning Powers. Each Learning Power was then re-introduced to the school, given a colour and linked to a termly value/values, with reasons explained for why we had made these decisions.
After the act of worship, the Ethos group split into small groups of 2, 3 or 4 and each group was assigned to a class. They spent the day with that class, teaching them and leading them in activities that they had planned, linked to each Learning Power character.
There were team games, creating mirror image mimes, solving clues to finding places around the globe, making prayer decision makers, painting, giving clear instructions to guide a blindfolded person around the classroom, exploring historical artefacts and composing a piece of music for a character.
The day culminated in each child making a Peace Mala type bracelet with the colours of the rainbow on that link to our Learning Powers and Termly Values
The day ended with a time of reflection focusing on Windows, Mirrors, Doors- our school's way of helping the children to understand Spiritual Development. There were lots of WOW moments shared by all classes.
