The Bishop’s Blue Coat High Appointed as a Design & Technology Association Hub School
This Bishop’s Blue Coat High School have been formally appointed as a Design and Technology Association (D&TA) D&T Hub School for our region. This national recognition reflects the longstanding commitment to innovation, creativity and excellence in Design & Technology education, as well as the hard work and dedication of staff and students.
As part of this designation, Head of Design & Technology, Simon Hooker, has also been appointed as Regional D&T Leader, sponsored by Samsung UK. In this role, Simon will work with schools across the region to support teachers, share best practice, strengthen curriculum design and champion high‑quality D&T education for all young people. This recognition has helped place Chester firmly on the map for technical excellence and future‑focused STEM education.
In the coming weeks, the D&TA will work closely to plan a formal recognition event in school.
Headteacher, Helen Cairns has shared how the school is extremely proud of this achievement and the opportunities it creates, not only for students, but for teachers, schools and young people across the region.
