VA schools & Academies - Admissions & PAN changes

If you are a Voluntary-Aided school or Academy and you are considering changes to your school’s Admissions Policy or Published Admissions Number, this is a reminder that you may need to begin any planned changes for the 2026/27 academic year soon.

Timeline:

• Sept 2024 Draft 2026/27 Admissions Policy & Consult DBE

• Oct 2024 - Jan 2025 Public Consultation for min. 6 weeks span.

• Feb 2025 Policy approval

• Sept 2025 Applications for school places

• Sept 2026 Academic year begins
