Religious Education
Primary Schools
Questful RE
In partnership with Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education, we are offering a brand new syllabus for teaching denominational religious education in primary schools: Questful RE.
Questful RE promotes the explicit teaching of Christian concepts and God’s big salvation story, giving pupils a deeper understanding of Christianity. Through an open investigative enquiry approach, pupils are given the opportunity to explore major religions and world views. The large number of questions included in each unit is a key feature of the syllabus. Through a range of disciplinary lenses, pupils will explore possible answers, discovering more about themselves, their relationships with others, their relationship with the world around them and their relationship with God.
Secondary Schools
Illuminating Pathways
The Illuminating Pathways syllabus is designed to ensure that students develop a rich knowledge and understanding of Christianity and core Christian concepts, whilst giving opportunity to explore other major world faiths and world views in Great Britain and the wider world today. It is also designed to develop religious literacy and Key Skills and to equip them for life in the 21st Century. The breadth of study enables teachers to create flexible schemes of learning that will fit either a two or three-year programme of study for Key Stage 3. Each key question that drives the unit study is underpinned by further questions within, to ignite and facilitate exciting enquiry-based learning.
