Courageous Advocacy

Fri 1 Mar 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM at Church House

‘Courageous advocacy is a long-term legacy, an endowment to future generations, that releases the possibility of the pupils in our schools to serve the common good’.  It is a term that has been in use within Church schools for the last five years.

However, the end of year report from SIAMS 2022-23 identified it is still not yet fully understood.  Inspection Question 5 in the new SIAMS 2023 Framework, focuses on how schools create an active, outward facing, culture of justice and responsibility towards others.

Led by Caroline Weir, author of the national CEEO Guidance document on courageous advocacy, this essential training day will ensure that delegates fully understand the extent of this concept.

They will leave with actions for evaluating current practice and further developing a social conscience in school.  Case studies will share practical ways in which the curriculum can provide opportunity to tackle injustice and projects that can be undertaken collaboratively with other schools.

Places are limited and we would encourage early booking.
