Chester Diocesan Learning Trust Welcomes CEO
Sara Lawrenson has taken up her post as the first substantive Chief Executive Officer of Chester Diocesan Learning Trust (CDLT).
Her appointment marks a significant milestone in the development of CDLT as it continues to grow and strengthen its mission, Sara brings extensive experience as a trust leader in her previous role.
On joining the trust, Sara said, "I am deeply honoured to step into the role of CEO at CDLT. I look forward to working closely with our schools, partners, and the wider Diocese community to continue our commitment to excellence in education and to support the growth and success of all our pupils and staff. It is a privilege to lead CDLT into its next chapter."
Diocesan Director of Education, Chris Penn added: “We are delighted to welcome Sara, her experience and expertise will ensure the growth and development of the Trust. Chester Diocesan Board of Education is committed to working closely with all of our church school MATs and local authorities, in support of our schools across the Diocese and continuing to strengthen these important partnerships.”
CDLT was established in October 2025 with eight founding church schools. Sara now joins CDLT’s Chief Finance and Operating Officer, Nicola Winstanley, to strengthen support for the trust’s schools.
