Chester DBE Launches new Multi-Academy Trust: Chester Diocesan Learning Trust (CDLT)
Saint Paul teaches, ‘the body is not made up of one part but of many.’
Chester Diocesan Learning Trust recognises and nurtures the unique gifts, skills and talents within our whole community.
We will empower adults and children to grow in character and mind,
shaping a better future.
Today marks the founding day of Chester Diocesan Learning Trust(CDLT) the second Diocesan Multi-academy Trust (MAT) founded by Chester DBE.
After 2 years of prayer, discussions and planning, 9 schools chose to join us in the creation of this new MAT and we have been working together for over 18 months to give the Trust a strong foundation. The 1st October marks the official start of our journey together as we have our first 4 schools converting today with 4 more due to convert on 1st November and one more later this year. We are delighted that the schools have chosen to come together, celebrating their unique contexts whilst sharing a vision of collaboration rooted in a church school foundation. CDLT's vision is based on Paul's letter to the Corinthians where he talks about the church being made up of many parts, but being one body. Inspired by this, CDLT will celebrate and develop the individual strengths and talents of its children, staff, leaders and schools, supporting one another towards one ambition, shaping better lives, rooted in a Christian context.
Sue Noakes, in her role as Deputy DDE, has been working with the schools over the past 18 months and is delighted to be acting as the interim CEO of the Trust as it starts its journey.
CDLT are celebrating the start of this new Trust both today and on1st November with a shared act of worship in each school, bringing Trust Board members, CDLT staff, governors, staff and children together to celebrate both the start of the Trust and God's love for all who are part of it.
CDLT has collaboration at its heart and celebrates the diversity of all its schools whilst be unified under this vision.
The Trust’s new logo was inspired by an Art day where Children reflected the vision, creating an artwork that was then used for the Trust logo.
